Sermorelin Dosage Chart: Trial Doses in mcg and mg

Sermorelin dosage chart figures all come from published studies, not from one official number. The trials used a weight-based amount in children and a flat amount in older adults, and no adult dose is approved anywhere. The chart below lists each one with the people it was tested in and the study behind it.

The amounts the studies used

Children: 30 mcg/kg once a day under the skin, at bedtime

Older men: a flat 2 mg at night, or 0.5 to 1 mg twice a day

Pituitary test: 1 mcg/kg once, given into a vein

Disclaimer: these amounts come from published studies in the people named, not from a current approved label. They are shown to explain the research and the math, not as a dose to take. Sermorelin has no approved adult dose, and a licensed clinician makes any such call.

Clinic pages tend to give one generic number with nothing behind it. This chart ties every amount to its study, works the weight-based dose into plain math, and explains why no adult standard exists. For the compound itself, see the sermorelin overview.

What doses did the sermorelin trials use?

Here is every published regimen in one place. Each row names who was studied, how it was given, the amount, the timing, how long it ran, and the study you can open.

Published sermorelin regimens, by group. Amounts are study figures, not a recommendation. PubMed IDs read 23 October 2026.

What does 30 mcg per kg work out to?

The childhood amount was tied to body weight. To turn a per-kilogram figure into a total, you multiply it by the weight. The table shows that plain math for the 30 mcg/kg daily amount, and for the higher 60 mcg/kg arm, at a few example weights.

The childhood per-kilogram amounts worked out at example body weights. Multiplication only, generated by script.
Body weightAt 30 mcg/kg a dayAt 60 mcg/kg a day
15 kg450 mcg900 mcg
20 kg600 mcg1200 mcg
25 kg750 mcg1500 mcg
30 kg900 mcg1800 mcg
40 kg1200 mcgn/a
50 kg1500 mcgn/a

How to read it: a 20 kg child at 30 mcg/kg works out to 600 mcg a day, because 30 times 20 is 600. The 60 mcg/kg column was only an arm in one childhood trial, so the larger weights are left blank.

Disclaimer: this is arithmetic that turns a study amount into milligrams or syringe units. It is not a dose for anyone, and a licensed clinician makes any dose decision.

How many syringe units is a sermorelin dose?

Units depend on how much water you mix into the vial. The table turns the flat adult amounts into units on a U-100 insulin syringe, for a 5 mg and a 10 mg vial at two water volumes. The total in the vial does not change with the water; only the units for a given amount do.

For any other vial or amount, the peptide reconstitution calculator runs the same steps as you type.

Why is there no set adult dose?

Most of the strong evidence is in children, where the amount was tied to weight for a medical reason. The adult studies were small and short, and they measured hormone levels rather than any body-shape result. So there was never an adult amount proven to do a specific job.

On top of that, there is no current approved label. The Geref brand was pulled in 2009, and a 2013 FDA notice ties the exit to the maker stopping, not to safety or results. With no label, no official adult amount exists to copy.

That is why this page is a record of trial amounts, not a plan. For what the studies reported as harms, see the sermorelin side effects guide.

What about timing and how long it ran?

Timing was mostly at night. The childhood dose was given at bedtime to line up with the body clock, and the flat adult amount was given once nightly. The twice-daily adult study split the amount across the day instead.

Length ran from a single test dose to a full year in children. The chart above lists the length next to each amount, so you can see how short most of the adult work really was.

Common questions

When is the best time of day for a sermorelin injection?+

The childhood trials gave it at bedtime, and a market-era drug review notes the same bedtime habit. The idea was to work with the natural nighttime release of growth hormone. That is what the studies did, not a schedule set for any reader.

Is 3 months of sermorelin enough?+

There is no set adult course, so there is no fixed answer. The trials ran from two weeks to a year, and in children the growth gain was largest around six months. In the studies, the effect faded once the shots stopped, so nothing carried on after treatment ended.

Is sermorelin the same as HGH?+

No. Sermorelin asks the pituitary to release its own growth hormone, while HGH is growth hormone added from outside. In a head to head childhood trial, growth hormone grew children faster than the peptide did. They are different treatments with different amounts.

Is there a sermorelin dose for muscle growth?+

No trial set one. The studies looked at childhood growth and at hormone levels in older adults, not at muscle building in healthy people. Any muscle-growth number you see online is a marketing figure, not a trial result, so this chart does not list one.

What did the adult studies use?+

Two main patterns appear in the chart above: a flat nightly dose in older men for six weeks, and a smaller twice-daily dose for two weeks. Both measured hormones, and the figures sit in the table with their trials, inside the disclaimer that frames them.
