IGF-1 LR3 Dosage Calculator: Reconstitution & Syringe Units

IGF-1 LR3 dosage calculator math for a 1 mg vial in 2 mL of BAC water: 500 mcg per mL, or 5 mcg in each U-100 unit.

No human dose exists to show. No study in people has published a dose of IGF-1 LR3, so this page gives the vial math and nothing else.

Type in your vial, your water and an amount you already have. You get the mL, the syringe units and the mcg in every unit. Lower on the page: why the long half-life quoted online does not match the studies that measured how fast LR3 clears.

Disclaimer: 5 mcg per unit is the strength of the sample vial. It is not a dose, and none is given here.

Why This Page Shows No Dose

No published study has tested IGF-1 LR3 in people. We searched PubMed on 30 October 2026 for every common name of the analog. That found 120 papers, and none was tagged as a clinical trial. The same trial filter does return mecasermin trials, so the search was working.

A 2026 review from Poznan University of Medical Sciences reached the same place. It sorts these peptides into four tiers of evidence, and IGF-1 LR3 sits in the last one, with no peer-reviewed human studies. A French anti-doping lab adds that the IGF-1 analogs were never approved for use in humans.

Forum and seller pages still print daily amounts. Not one of those numbers comes from a study in people, so we do not repeat them. What a page can do honestly is the arithmetic, which is what the calculator above is for.

IGF-1 LR3 Is Not Mecasermin

There is an approved IGF-1 medicine. It is mecasermin, sold as Increlex, and its label says it matches the body's own IGF-1: 70 amino acids weighing 7,649 daltons. IGF-1 LR3 is a different molecule.

Australian researchers described the LR3 version in 1992. They swapped the third amino acid, glutamic acid, for arginine, and added a 13 amino acid lead piece, 11 of them from pig growth hormone. That brings it to 83 amino acids. In cells that make IGF binding proteins, it was stronger than IGF-1, because it sticks far less to those proteins.

Even the weight is different. From the formula on Wikipedia, LR3 comes to about 9,100 daltons, so by our math one microgram of it holds about 16 percent fewer molecules than one microgram of mecasermin.

For all those reasons, a mecasermin label dose is not an LR3 dose, and this page does not print one. Our IGF-1 LR3 profile covers the animal research in full.

What the Clearance Studies Found

Some pages say LR3 lasts far longer than natural IGF-1. Wikipedia gives a half-life of about 20 to 30 hours. The paper it cites for that line is a mouse study of artery plaque, and its abstract reports no half-life. We could not find where the number was measured.

The studies that did measure how LR3 clears point the other way. In a 1996 rat study, LR3 was cleared from the circulation faster than IGF-1, because so little of it was held by binding proteins. It still beat IGF-1 on some effects when injected once a day, just by much less than when it was given by steady infusion.

A 2021 anti-doping study gave rats one injection into muscle. Intact LR3 was no longer detected after 4 hours, while breakdown pieces of it could still be found for up to 16 hours.

The short version: fast to clear in rats, never measured in people. A half-life claim with no study behind it is not a basis for timing anything.

Micrograms per Unit for Small Vials

LR3 is weighed in micrograms, so the numbers get small fast. This grid is plain arithmetic for three example vial sizes:

mcg of IGF-1 LR3 in one U-100 unit. Vial mg x 1,000 / water mL / 100.
Vial1 mL water2 mL water3 mL water
0.1 mg10.50.33
0.5 mg52.51.67
1 mg1053.33

Disclaimer: the grid shows strengths per unit only. This page gives no dose.A 0.1 mg vial in 1 mL puts just 1 mcg in each unit. If an amount lands under 1 unit, add water so it spreads over several marks. Our mL to units guide shows how small volumes read on each barrel.

If You Work With Cells: Dilution Math

LR3 began life as a lab tool. Its makers described the Long analogs as useful reagents for studying how IGF-1 works, and an anti-doping team that found it in a black market vial noted that the tagged form is usually made for biochemical studies.

If your lab method gives a final strength in the cell medium, the math is one line:

stock strength x stock volume = final strength x final volume

Made-up numbers to show the steps: a 100 mcg per mL stock, 10 mL of medium at 0.1 mcg per mL. Stock needed = 0.1 x 10 / 100 = 0.01 mL, which is 10 microlitres.

Disclaimer: the example values are arithmetic only. Follow your own lab method for the final strength.

What the Research Flags

The worry raised most is low blood sugar. The 2026 review says off-label reports center on signs that look like it, which fits how close IGF-1 and insulin signaling are, though many of those reports come from outside any clinic. The approved IGF-1, mecasermin, carries low blood sugar as the first warning on its label. That is a fact about a different molecule, but it shows why the concern exists.

The review also notes a longer-term question with no answer yet. People with higher natural IGF-1 have been linked to some cancers, so there is a theoretical concern about adding an IGF-1 analog. No long-term safety data exist.

Anti-doping labs have opened black market vials and found the wrong thing: LR3 still carrying a lab purification tag, and lower quality, oxidized forms. The calculator trusts the label, so a mislabeled vial makes every result on this page wrong.

In sport there is no gray area: IGF-1 and its analogs, LR3 included, are prohibited. For growth hormone itself, our HGH calculator converts somatropin between mg, IU and units.

How to Reconstitute an IGF-1 LR3 Vial

These handling steps are general. They are not medical instructions, and they carry no amount.

  1. Read the label in mg. If the vial label gives mcg, change it to mg before you type it in: 1,000 mcg is 1 mg.
  2. Wipe each stopper. Use a fresh alcohol swab on the LR3 vial top and on the water vial top, then let them dry.
  3. Measure the diluent. Take up the water volume you chose with a clean syringe, checking the barrel at eye level.
  4. Trickle it in. Set the tip against the inside of the vial and let the water trickle down onto the powder.
  5. Wait, then swirl. Give the powder a minute, then swirl lightly. Shaking can make the liquid foam.
  6. Note the mcg per mL. Mark the date and the mcg per mL, and store the vial as its supplier or lab method says.

If you use bacteriostatic water, its label lists benzyl alcohol as the preservative and calls the bottle a multiple-dose container. Use the diluent your own method names.

IGF-1 LR3 Questions

What is the IGF-1 LR3 dose?

There is no published one. No study in people has reported a dose of IGF-1 LR3, and no regulator has approved it. A 2026 medical review puts it in its lowest evidence tier, with no peer-reviewed human studies at all. This page gives the math for a vial and no dose.

How many mcg of IGF-1 LR3 are in 10 units?

That depends on the vial and the water. A 1 mg vial mixed with 2 mL holds 500 mcg per mL, so 10 units, which is 0.1 mL, holds 50 mcg. Mix the same vial with 3 mL and those 10 units hold about 33 mcg. Disclaimer: this is a unit conversion, not a dose.

How much water goes in a 1 mg IGF-1 LR3 vial?

No label sets one, because no product of this analog is approved. With 1 mg, 1 mL makes each unit hold 10 mcg, 2 mL makes it 5 mcg, and 3 mL makes it about 3.3 mcg. Less per unit means small amounts land on more marks, which are easier to read.

Is IGF-1 LR3 the same as IGF-1 or Increlex?

No. Increlex is mecasermin, a copy of the body's own IGF-1 with 70 amino acids. IGF-1 LR3 has a swapped amino acid at position 3 and 13 extra ones at the front, 83 in all. So a fact or a label dose about mecasermin says nothing about LR3.

How long does IGF-1 LR3 last in the body?

Nobody has measured it in people. In rats it was cleared from the blood faster than natural IGF-1, and after one shot into muscle the intact analog was no longer detected after 4 hours. The 20 to 30 hour figure seen online does not come from either of those studies.

Is IGF-1 LR3 allowed in sport?

No. A French anti-doping lab paper from 2021 says IGF-1 and its analogs, LR3 included, are prohibited in sport.

Does this calculator say how much IGF-1 LR3 to use?

No, and it cannot. It only turns a vial, a water volume and an amount you type into mL and units. With no human dose published, any decision about IGF-1 LR3 is one for a licensed clinician.
