Zepbound Dizzy Spells: What the Label Reports

Zepbound dizzy spells are a listed side effect. In the Zepbound label table from the weight-loss trials, dizziness was reported by 4%, 5% and 4% of people on the 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg doses, against 2% on placebo.

The same label reports dizziness next to four related findings: low blood pressure, fluid loss from stomach side effects, low blood sugar and serious allergic reaction. Of these, the label names dizziness as a symptom only of low blood sugar and of a serious allergic reaction; it does not say what caused the dizziness in its trials. This page sets out each one with the label figure behind it, and says plainly where no record gives an answer.

Short answer

Is dizziness on the Zepbound label?
Yes. It is in the main side effect table: 4% to 5% on Zepbound against 2% on placebo.
What the label reports with it
Four findings: low blood pressure (1.6% vs 0.1% on placebo), fluid loss, low blood sugar, and serious allergic reaction. The label names dizziness as a sign of the last two, not the first two.
How long it lasts
No label or trial says. Adverse event reports give only an onset figure for nervous system events: a median of 32 days after starting.
What the label says helps
Drinking fluids to help reduce the chance of dehydration. It gives no treatment for dizziness itself.

Dizziness on the Zepbound label, dose by dose

Dizziness is in Table 1 of the Zepbound label, the table of common side effects from the weight-loss trials. It was about twice as common on each dose as on placebo.

Dizziness and low blood pressure by weekly injection dose, from the Zepbound (tirzepatide) FDA label, Section 6.1, Table 1 (adults with obesity or overweight). Figures are percent of people.
Side effectPlacebo5 mg10 mg15 mg
Dizziness2%4%5%4%
Low blood pressure (hypotension)0%1%1%2%

Dizziness did not climb with the dose. It peaked at 10 mg (5%) and was the same on 5 mg and 15 mg (4%). Low blood pressure, on the row below, was highest on 15 mg (2%).

The column headings are maintenance doses. Every Zepbound course starts lower. The FDA label for Zepbound lists the starting dose as:

2.5 mg injected under the skin once weekly for 4 weeks

Is it normal to feel dizzy after taking tirzepatide?

It is a known, listed effect, though most people in the trials did not report it. Zepbound and Mounjaro are both tirzepatide, but their US labels treat dizziness differently.

  • Zepbound (US, weight loss): dizziness is in the main side effect table, at 4% to 5% against 2% on placebo.
  • Mounjaro (US, type 2 diabetes): dizziness is not in the adverse reaction tables. It appears only as a sign of low blood sugar and in the list of allergic reaction signs.
  • Mounjaro (EU): the European leaflet lists dizziness and low blood pressure as side effects reported in patients treated for weight management.

US safety reports point the same way for the drug class. A 2025 analysis of the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System found 19 nervous system signals for GLP-1 drugs, including dizziness, tremor, taste change (dysgeusia) and lethargy. Reports like these show an association, not proof that the drug caused the symptom.

Why the two US labels differ is not explained in either label. For how the two brands relate, see is Zepbound the same as Mounjaro.

Why is my GLP-1 making me dizzy? Four links in the label

No regulator or trial names a proven cause. The Zepbound label does report four things that sit next to dizziness, and each comes with its own figure.

What the Zepbound (tirzepatide) FDA label and patient information report next to dizziness. Built by Peptides Vietnam from the label text, retrieved October 2026.
LinkWhat the label reportsWhere dizziness comes in
Low blood pressureHypotension 1.6% on Zepbound vs 0.1% on placebo; 2.2% with blood pressure medicine vs 1.2% withoutDizziness and low blood pressure sit in the same label table
Fluid loss (dehydration)Diarrhea, nausea and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids; low blood pressure also occurred with stomach side effects and dehydrationTied to low blood pressure on the label, not directly to dizziness
Low blood sugarIn a type 2 diabetes trial (label Study 2), hypoglycemia 10.3% with a sulfonylurea vs 2.1% withoutDizziness or light-headedness is listed as a sign
Serious allergic reactionListed among serious side effects in the patient informationFainting or feeling dizzy is listed as a sign

Fluid loss. The patient information says diarrhea, nausea and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids, which may cause kidney problems. The prescribing information adds that most reported kidney injury cases occurred in people whose stomach side effects led to dehydration.

Low blood sugar. The patient information lists dizziness or light-headedness first among its signs, with sweating, confusion or drowsiness, headache and blurred vision. In a trial in people with type 2 diabetes (Study 2 on the label), the risk was higher with an insulin secretagogue such as a sulfonylurea: 10.3% against 2.1% for Zepbound users not on one.

Allergic reaction. Among the signs of a serious allergic reaction, the patient information lists fainting or feeling dizzy, next to severe rash or itching and a very rapid heartbeat.

Tirzepatide, blood pressure and heart rate

Tirzepatide lowers blood pressure on average, and low blood pressure events were uncommon but more frequent than on placebo. That pattern shows up in the label, a trial analysis and a 2026 meta-analysis.

  • A SURMOUNT-1 analysis found a net drop of 6.8 mm Hg systolic and 4.2 mm Hg diastolic against placebo by 72 weeks. It said low blood pressure events were infrequent, but the rate was higher on tirzepatide.
  • A 2026 meta-analysis of tirzepatide and semaglutide on blood pressure reported a higher risk of hypotension-related events (risk ratio 2.45), particularly at higher doses.
  • The Zepbound label reports a mean rise in heart rate of 1 to 3 beats per minute, with no rise on placebo.

One 2025 case report adds a specific group. It says tirzepatide prescribed for weight loss may worsen orthostatic intolerance (feeling faint on standing) and cause a marked fast heart rate in people with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). A single case report cannot say how often this happens.

How long does dizziness last with Zepbound?

No label, trial or regulator reports how long dizziness lasts on Zepbound. The only timing figure found is for when nervous system events start, across GLP-1 drugs as a group.

In the 2025 analysis of US adverse event reports, these events began a median of 32 days after starting a GLP-1 drug. Half began between 7 and 122 days, and 45.28% began within the first 30 days. That is onset, not duration, and it covers all nervous system events, not dizziness alone.

Reporting databases also cannot show cause. A clinician is the right person to judge dizziness that goes on, comes back, or comes with fainting.

What helps with dizziness from Zepbound? What the labels say

The labels give no treatment for dizziness itself. What they do say is about fluids, other medicines and warning signs.

  • Fluids: the Zepbound patient information says it is important to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration. The Mounjaro label tells prescribers to advise patients to take precautions to avoid fluid depletion.
  • Blood pressure medicine: low blood pressure was reported in 2.2% of Zepbound users also on blood pressure medicine, against 1.2% of those who were not.
  • Diabetes medicine: in the label type 2 diabetes trial (Study 2), low blood sugar was more common with a sulfonylurea (10.3% against 2.1%).
  • Warning signs: fainting or feeling dizzy with a severe rash or a very rapid heartbeat is on the serious allergic reaction list.

None of this is a plan for any one person. Changes to other medicines, or to the Zepbound dose, belong with a licensed clinician. For tiredness, a separate complaint, see does tirzepatide make you tired.

What the records do not show about Zepbound dizziness

Three common questions have no answer in any label, regulator page or trial we found.

  • How long dizziness lasts on Zepbound, in days or weeks.
  • Which of the linked causes explains dizziness in a given person.
  • Any tested treatment for tirzepatide dizziness.

Zepbound dizziness questions

Is it normal to feel dizzy after taking tirzepatide?+

Dizziness is a listed side effect of Zepbound. In the label table from the weight-loss trials, it was reported by 4%, 5% and 4% of people on the 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg doses, against 2% on placebo. The EU Mounjaro leaflet also lists dizziness in people treated for weight management.

Why is my GLP-1 making me dizzy?+

No source proves a single cause. The Zepbound label reports dizziness next to four findings: low blood pressure (1.6% vs 0.1% on placebo), fluid loss from stomach side effects, low blood sugar and serious allergic reaction. It names dizziness as a sign of low blood sugar and of a serious allergic reaction, not of the other two. A clinician is the one to sort out which applies.

How long does dizziness last with Zepbound?+

No label or trial reports how long dizziness lasts on Zepbound. The only timing figure found is from US adverse event reports on GLP-1 drugs: nervous system events began a median of 32 days after starting. That is onset, not duration, and it shows an association only.

What helps with dizziness from Zepbound?+

The label gives no treatment for dizziness itself. The Zepbound patient information says it is important to drink fluids to help reduce the chance of dehydration, and the Mounjaro label tells prescribers to advise precautions to avoid fluid depletion. Anything beyond that is a question for a licensed clinician.

Can Zepbound cause low blood pressure?+

The label says hypotension occurred more often on Zepbound (1.6%) than on placebo (0.1%). It was seen more in people also on blood pressure medicine (2.2%) than in those who were not (1.2%), and it also occurred with stomach side effects and dehydration.

Does the Mounjaro label list dizziness?+

Only in two places. In the US Mounjaro label, dizziness appears as a sign of low blood sugar and in the list of allergic reaction signs; it is not in the Mounjaro adverse reaction tables. The Zepbound label, for the same drug, lists it in its main side effect table.
