Epitalon Dosage Calculator: Reconstitution & Syringe Units
This Epitalon dosage calculator takes your vial size, your water volume and a figure you bring. It then shows the mL and U-100 syringe units. Epitalon, also spelled Epithalon, is a peptide made of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine, or AEDG for short. No dose is approved in the US or the EU, so the amount box starts empty.
Epitalon calculator: vial, water and amount
Enter the mg on your label, the mL of water you mixed in, and an amount you have from your own source. The tool works in mg, so change micrograms first by dividing by 1,000. For example, 500 mcg is 0.5 mg.

How does the math work for a big epitalon vial?
Three steps take you from the label to the syringe, and you can redo each one by hand.
- Divide the vial mg by the mL of water. That is the strength, in mg per mL.
- Divide your amount in mg by the strength. That is how many mL to draw.
- Multiply the mL by 100. That is the reading on a U-100 syringe, where 100 units make 1 mL.
A worked case with a 50 mg vial and 2 mL of water, using 1 mg only because it is easy to follow:
50 mg / 2 mL = 25 mg per mL
1 mg / 25 mg per mL = 0.04 mL
0.04 mL x 100 = 4 units
That is the catch with big vials. Each unit holds a quarter of a mg, so small amounts land on very few marks. More water fixes it. FDA found epitalon for sale in 10, 20, 25 and 50 mg vials, and the table runs the numbers for each:
| Vial | Water | Strength | One unit holds | A full 1 mL syringe holds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 mg | 1 mL | 10 mg per mL | 0.1 mg | 10 mg |
| 10 mg | 2 mL | 5 mg per mL | 0.05 mg | 5 mg |
| 20 mg | 2 mL | 10 mg per mL | 0.1 mg | 10 mg |
| 25 mg | 2.5 mL | 10 mg per mL | 0.1 mg | 10 mg |
| 50 mg | 2 mL | 25 mg per mL | 0.25 mg | 25 mg |
| 50 mg | 5 mL | 10 mg per mL | 0.1 mg | 10 mg |
The last column matters when an amount is large. If it is more than one full syringe holds, the calculator tells you how many fills it takes. For scale, the two liquids proposed to FDA for compounding were 10 mg per mL and 3 mg per mL. Our mL to units guide has more practice with the unit scale.

Is your vial epitalon or epitalon acetate?
The answer changes how much epitalon a vial really holds. FDA's 2026 review lists two forms. The free base is plain epitalon, at 390.35 g per mol. Epitalon acetate is the same peptide paired with acetic acid as a salt, at 450.40 g per mol. FDA adds that even research papers do not always say which form they used.
If the mg on a label weighs the acetate, only 390.35 divided by 450.40 of it is epitalon. That is 86.7%. Here is what each common vial size would hold:
| Label says | Epitalon if it is the free base | Epitalon if it is the acetate |
|---|---|---|
| 10 mg | 10 mg | 8.67 mg |
| 20 mg | 20 mg | 17.33 mg |
| 25 mg | 25 mg | 21.67 mg |
| 50 mg | 50 mg | 43.33 mg |
To run the calculator for an acetate vial, type the corrected figure as the vial size, so 43.33 instead of 50. Every reading below it then counts epitalon itself rather than salt. If the form is not stated anywhere, the label figure is the only number you have, and the true epitalon content may be lower.

What amounts did the epitalon studies use?
Only a few human studies have used synthetic epitalon. Most come from researchers linked to one institute in St Petersburg, Russia, and most measured melatonin or other body markers, not an illness. A 2026 review and FDA's 2026 briefing list them. These are the amounts as those two sources report each study:
| Amount | Schedule | Route | Who | Study |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.01 mg a day, so 0.1 mg per course | 10 days | Into the muscle | People: older adults with low night melatonin, 15 of them on epitalon | Korkushko and colleagues, 2007, as tabled in the 2026 review |
| About 0.5 mg a day | 20 days, 3 sprays twice a day | Spray under the tongue | People: 20 women aged 40 to 50, mostly night-shift workers, with low melatonin output | Ivko and colleagues, 2020, as FDA summarized it (FDA dates it 2021) |
| 5 mcg per eye a day, so 50 mcg per eye per course | 10 days | Injection next to the eye | People: 162 patients with retinitis pigmentosa, a retinal disease present from birth | Khavinson and colleagues, 2002, as tabled in the 2026 review |
| 1 mcg per mouse, about 30 to 40 mcg per kg | 5 days in a row every month, from 3 months old for life | Under the skin | Animals: 54 female mice | Anisimov and colleagues, 2003 |
Disclaimer: these are research amounts from small studies, one of them in mice. They are not a dose for you, no epitalon dose is approved, and a licensed clinician is the person to decide on any dose.
Look at the route column. FDA found no human study that gave epitalon by injection under the skin, even though that is the route the compounding requests named.
FDA also read the websites of clinics that sell epitalon. In its 2026 briefing, it records those sites as listing:
5 to 10 mg a day, as a shot under the skin or by mouth, with some sites adding cycles
Disclaimer: these are website claims that FDA wrote down, not study doses. Even the low end is 10 times the largest daily amount in the human studies above, and we found no study that tested them.

Is epitalon the same as epithalamin?
No. Epithalamin is an extract from the pineal gland of cattle, a mix of many peptides. Epitalon was built later, in a lab, from the amino acids found in that extract. Much of the older human work, including long follow-ups of older adults, used the extract.
One of those extract studies, Korkushko and colleagues in 2006, followed older adults with heart disease for 12 years. As the 2026 review records it, the treated group got:
Epithalamin 10 mg into the muscle, five shots 3 days apart, every 6 months for 3 years
Disclaimer: that is a dose of a different substance, an animal gland extract, given to patients under medical care. It does not carry over to epitalon and it is not a dose for you.

What did the cell and mouse studies find?
In a 2003 lab study, researchers added epitalon to human fetal fibroblasts, a kind of connective tissue cell, in a dish. It switched on telomerase. That enzyme rebuilds the caps on the ends of chromosomes, and the caps grew longer. A 2025 study from a university in London saw longer caps in normal human cells and in breast cancer cell lines, by two different routes. A correction later replaced three of its figures.
In the life-long mouse study in the table, the treated mice did not live longer on average. The longest-lived tenth of the group did live 13.3% longer than its match among the untreated mice. These are results in cells and mice. They do not show what epitalon does in people.

What do FDA and the safety record say?
Epitalon is on an FDA list of substances flagged for possible safety risks in compounding. FDA says some ways of giving it could set off an immune reaction. It also says it lacks the safety data to know whether epitalon would harm people.
Its 2026 briefing adds detail. FDA found no studies that measured how the body handles epitalon, and no human studies built to test its safety. Its adverse event database held no epitalon reports up to 8 December 2025. No FDA-approved drug contains epitalon, and the EU has authorized no product with it. An orphan drug status it got in 2010 for retinitis pigmentosa was withdrawn in 2016.
In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee looked at adding epitalon to the list of substances that pharmacies may compound. FDA's own briefing argued against it, and the committee then voted narrowly in favor, the 2026 review reports. A committee vote is advice to FDA. It is not an approval, and it does not show that epitalon is safe or works.

How long does epitalon keep?
FDA's 2026 briefing repeats these reported figures for the free base. The freeze-dried powder keeps for about 3 weeks at room temperature. For long storage, it should stay dry and below -18°C, since damp air shortens its life. Once mixed, the liquid keeps for 2 to 7 days at 4°C, the temperature of a normal fridge.
Those are reported handling figures, not results from a study of mixed vials. For the water, our bac water fridge FAQ covers storage. Per its FDA label, bac water is sterile and preserved with 0.9% or 1.1% benzyl alcohol so one vial can be drawn from again and again.

How to mix an epitalon vial
This is vial preparation only, from dry powder to a mixed liquid of known strength. Nothing here sets an amount, and there are no injection steps on this page; those belong with a licensed clinician.
- Check the name and size. Make sure the label says Epitalon, Epithalon or AEDG, and copy down its mg. A label that says Epithalamin is a different product.
- Swab the stoppers. Wipe the top of the epitalon vial and the top of the water vial with alcohol, and give both a few seconds to dry.
- Fill a syringe with water. Draw the bac water volume you picked. With a large vial, more water keeps small amounts on readable marks.
- Add the water gently. Slide the needle in at an angle and let the water trickle along the side of the vial onto the powder.
- Turn and look. Rotate the vial slowly until the liquid is clear and no flakes sit at the bottom of the glass.
- Write it on the vial. Record the mix date and the mg per mL. If you know the powder is the acetate salt, write that down as well.

Common questions
How many units is 1 mg of epitalon?+
It depends on the vial and the water. A 10 mg vial with 1 mL of water makes 10 mg per mL. Then 1 mg fills 10 units of a U-100 syringe. In a 50 mg vial with 2 mL, the strength is 25 mg per mL and 1 mg needs only 4 units.
How much bac water goes in a 50 mg epitalon vial?+
No study or label sets it. With 2 mL the liquid is 25 mg per mL, and each unit holds 0.25 mg. With 5 mL it is 10 mg per mL, which spreads small amounts across more marks. Make sure the vial has room for the volume you pick.
Is Epithalon the same as Epitalon?+
Yes. Epitalon, Epithalon and Epithalone are spellings of one four amino acid peptide, also written AEDG. Epithalamin is not the same thing: it is an extract taken from the pineal gland of cattle.
Is there an approved epitalon dose?+
No. Epitalon is not an approved medicine in the US or the EU, and no human study has tested it as a shot under the skin. The study table above lists what the few human studies gave, each with its source.
Why does the acetate salt change the math?+
An acetate salt carries extra weight that is not epitalon. FDA lists the acetate at 450.40 g per mol and the free base at 390.35, so a vial weighed as the acetate is about 86.7% epitalon.
Does this calculator pick an epitalon dose?+
No. It converts the numbers you type into mL and units. Whether to use epitalon, and how much, is not a question a calculator can answer.
