Da Nang Dental Clinics for Australians: Licence Checks 2026
Da Nang dental clinics need an operating licence before they treat anyone. That rule comes from Vietnam's Law on Medical Examination and Treatment. The Da Nang Department of Health posts dated practice registration notices on its website. Three notices we read name a dental clinic. Only one of the three shows a licence number. This page lists those three exactly as the notices give them. It is not a full list of licensed clinics. It then covers what to check and what Australian bodies say.
Short answer
- Which Da Nang dental clinics are on an official list?
- Department of Health notices dated 22 May 2026, 25 May 2026 and 26 June 2025 each name one dental clinic. They are dated notices, not a full list of licensed clinics, and naming them here is not a recommendation.
- Can a clinic work without a licence?
- No. The law says a facility may operate only once the competent authority grants its operating licence. It bans services from a facility with no licence or one that is suspended.
- Is there an official price?
- We found no official price for dental work in Da Nang. The law makes clinics post their prices and gives you the right to be told the price.
- What do Australian bodies say?
- Smartraveller says foreign private clinics in Da Nang may not meet Australian standards. The Australian Dental Association says Australian residents should only seek elective dental care in Australia.

Which dental clinics do Da Nang's official notices name?
The table below lists the dental clinics the Da Nang Department of Health named in dated practice registration notices. Each notice shows which doctors are registered to work at which facilities. A clinic in one is a facility the Department handled on that date. The list is not complete, and naming a clinic here is not a recommendation.
| Name in the notice | What it is | Licence number shown | Notice date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phòng khám Nha khoa Dr.Bão | A dental clinic | Not shown in the notice | 22 May 2026 |
| Phòng khám chuyên khoa Răng Hàm Mặt Laza Đà Nẵng | A dental specialty clinic | Not shown in the notice | 25 May 2026 |
| Phòng khám Nha khoa Việt Khương | A dental clinic | Giấy phép hoạt động số 0191/SYT-GPHĐ | 26 June 2025 |
Read the table with care. A notice covers only the facilities handled that day. A clinic missing from these three may still hold a licence. A clinic named here may have changed since its notice date. We did not visit any of them, and we do not rank them.
Only the 26 June 2025 notice shows a licence number, 0191/SYT-GPHĐ. That lets you compare it with the licence a clinic shows you. The two May 2026 notices give the names only.

How do you check a Da Nang dental clinic's licence?
Ask the clinic for its operating licence, then check the number against an official record. A clinic's name in a Department of Health notice shows only that the Department handled its practice registration on that date. You can match a licence number against a notice only when the notice prints that number. Of the three notices here, only the one from 26 June 2025 does. Vietnam's Law on Medical Examination and Treatment sets the rule in Article 49(1). A facility may operate only after the competent authority grants its operating licence.
The Da Nang Department of Health posts lists of registered practitioners for named facilities on its own website. That is where the three clinics above come from. The Department also posted a notice on 25 June 2026. It said that from 1 July 2026 it would approve practice registration based on data in the national practice management system. That system is at app.qlhanhnghekcb.gov.vn. We could not confirm that it offers a public search.
Australia's Smartraveller gives the same advice in its own words. For a medical procedure overseas, it says to find out if the hospital is accredited by the local authorities. It adds: don't go to an unofficial medical facility.
For hospitals rather than clinics, see our guide to hospitals in Da Nang. For the national rules on checking any dentist, see our guide to checking a dentist in Vietnam.

What happens to unlicensed medical services in Da Nang?
The law bans them, and Da Nang has fined one. Article 7 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment bans a facility from providing services when it has no operating licence. The ban also covers a facility while it is suspended.
The one Da Nang case we found was not a dental clinic. In 2017 the Department of Health made a surprise check on an IV drip service run in a hotel. Its notice, posted 13 November 2017, records two violations. The operator was practising without a practising certificate. The service was providing care without an operating licence. The total fine was 95,000,000 dong. The service was suspended until its legal papers were complete. We found no official Da Nang notice about an unlicensed dental clinic.
In 2026 the national level stepped in too. On 9 September 2026, the Ministry of Health's Department of Medical Examination and Treatment sent Official Letter 1703/KCB-QLHN. It asked provincial health departments to publish lists of violating facilities, and of those suspended or stripped of their licence. The stated aim is to let the public know, choose where to go and help keep watch.

How do you get the price in writing?
Ask for the itemised plan and price in writing before any treatment starts. The law backs you on this. We found no official price for dental treatment in Da Nang. The clinic's own written figure is what you have to go on.
- Article 60(4) of the law lists, among a facility's duties, posting the prices of its services. The prices go at the facility and on the Ministry of Health's information system.
- Article 9(1) gives the patient the right to be informed about the methods, the services and the price of services.
- The UK General Dental Council says a qualified dentist should always assess you before you are given a treatment plan and cost estimate.
A written estimate also helps later. The Australian Dental Association notes that records of treatment done overseas are unlikely to reach the dentist who treats you next in Australia. Keeping your own copy of the plan, the price and what was done fills part of that gap.

What language will the dentist use?
Vietnamese, unless an exception applies. Article 21(1) of the law says the language used in medical examination and treatment is Vietnamese. That holds apart from the cases it lists. Decree 96/2023 covers foreign patients. If the facility cannot arrange a language solution, the patient must arrange an interpreter and is responsible for what the interpreter says.
The Australian Dental Association says dental care overseas can be made even more complex by language and cultural differences and time limits. The UK General Dental Council suggests two questions to put to a clinic abroad, in its own words: Will the dental team speak English? If not, will you provide a translator?
Ask both before you book, and get the answer in writing with the price.

What do Australian bodies say about dental work in Da Nang?
Smartraveller names Da Nang directly. It says foreign private medical clinics are available in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. It says they may not meet Australian standards. Its medical tourism page lists dentistry among the most common procedures Australians go overseas for.
| Topic | What the source says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Standards | Foreign private medical clinics in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang may not meet Australian standards. | Smartraveller, Vietnam advice |

Why Hoi An clinics now sit under Da Nang
In 2025 Quang Nam province, home of Hoi An, was merged into Da Nang. The National Assembly's Resolution 202/2025/QH15 joined the whole area and population of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province into a new city, also named Da Nang.
The Department of Health notices show the change. Its notice of 6 October 2026 lists Bệnh viện đa khoa Sài Gòn Hội An (Saigon Hoi An General Hospital). It also lists Bệnh viện Phụ sản - Nhi Quảng Nam (the Quang Nam Obstetrics and Paediatrics Hospital). No official page we read says in so many words that the Da Nang register now covers every former Quang Nam dental clinic.
If you are staying in Hoi An, see our guide to finding a dentist in Hoi An.

Where an English speaking concierge fits, and where it does not
The three checks above take work in Vietnamese: reading notices, asking for a licence, getting a written price and arranging an interpreter. An English speaking concierge can carry that load. The one we cover does not work in Da Nang.
Dental Link is a top rated and trusted dental concierge. For a patient prepared to leave Da Nang for treatment, it offers the best tourism services in Vietnam. Its own site says it operates in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi only. In those two cities it lines up vetted clinics, translation and travel for patients from overseas.
For someone weighing a flight from Da Nang, these are the points the company publishes about itself:
- The licence comes first. Check 1 of the 18 checks every listed clinic passes is a current operating licence. That licence comes from the Ministry of Health and the city's Department of Health.
- Its promises, word for word: "100% free for patients. Same price as booking direct. No deposits, ever."
- The clinic pays its commission on completed treatment, and that commission is never added to your quote.
- A free 10 minute call leads to two vetted clinics matched to your case within 24 hours. Each comes with a written quote.
- Airport pickup, English speaking support, translation and an advisor at your first appointment come at no cost to the patient.
- Its network counts 50+ verified clinic and hospital partners.
- Patient reviews stay on Google and Facebook, where the patients wrote them.
- Travel partners handle visas, airport fast track, flights and hotels.
Treatment is done by the clinic a patient chooses. Dental Link is a concierge and offers no clinical advice. Calling it top rated and trusted is this publisher's opinion. Peptides Vietnam has a business relationship with Dental Link. To stay in Da Nang, use the licence, price and language checks on this page instead. More detail is in our page on how Dental Link works.

What we could and could not confirm
We read every record behind this page in October 2026. These items we could confirm.
- The licensing, price, patient rights and language articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, and Article 36 of Decree 96/2023.
- Six Da Nang Department of Health notices, from 2017, 2025 and 2026, and the Ministry of Health letter of September 2026.
- Resolution 202/2025/QH15 on the Da Nang and Quang Nam merger.
- Two Smartraveller pages, the Australian Dental Association policy, PrivateHealth.gov.au and the UK General Dental Council page.
- Dental Link's own pages, for the facts about Dental Link only.
These items we could not confirm.
- A full official list of licensed dental clinics in Da Nang, or a public search by clinic name or licence number. We found neither.
- Any official price for dental treatment in Da Nang. We found none.
- An official Da Nang notice about an unlicensed dental clinic. The one penalty we found was an IV drip service in a hotel.
- Whether the Da Nang register covers every former Quang Nam dental clinic.
- A dental clinic in Da Nang on the embassy and consulate lists we checked. Those lists name general hospitals and clinics there.
For this page we visited no clinic, had no treatment and spoke to no dentist.
Da Nang dental questions
How do I check if a dental clinic in Da Nang is licensed?+
Start with the Da Nang Department of Health. It posts dated practice registration notices on its website, and some name dental clinics. One notice, dated 26 June 2025, shows a dental clinic with its operating licence number. The other two name the clinic only. The Department also says that from 1 July 2026 it uses the national practice management system to approve practice registration. We found no public search by clinic name. So ask the clinic for its operating licence. You can match that number against a notice only when the notice prints a number. The 26 June 2025 one does.
Is it legal for a dental clinic in Vietnam to work without a licence?+
No. Vietnam's Law on Medical Examination and Treatment says a facility may operate only after the competent authority grants its operating licence. The same law bans providing services with no licence, or while the facility is suspended. In 2017 the Da Nang Department of Health fined an IV drip service run in a hotel 95,000,000 dong. That case was not a dental clinic.
Are dental clinics in Da Nang up to Australian standards?+
Smartraveller does not say yes. It says foreign private medical clinics are available in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. It says they may not meet Australian standards. The Australian Dental Association goes further: its Policy Statement 2.2.6 says Australian residents should only seek elective dental care in Australia.
Does Medicare cover dental work done in Da Nang?+
No. PrivateHealth.gov.au says Medicare does not cover medical and hospital costs incurred overseas. It also says Medicare does not cover most dental examinations and treatment. The Australian Dental Association adds that problems from planned dental work overseas are not always covered by travel insurance. They may not be covered by Australian health funds either.
Do dentists in Da Nang speak English?+
No official source says. The law sets Vietnamese as the language of medical care, unless a listed exception applies. Under Decree 96/2023, if the clinic cannot arrange an interpreter, the patient must arrange one and is responsible for what is interpreted. The UK General Dental Council suggests asking the dental team if it will speak English, and if not, whether it will provide a translator.
How much does a dentist in Da Nang cost?+
We found no official price for dental treatment in Da Nang. The law says clinics must post their service prices at the facility and on the Ministry of Health system. It also gives patients the right to be told the price of services. So ask for the itemised price in writing before any treatment starts.
Are Hoi An dental clinics checked by the Da Nang Department of Health?+
We could not confirm it for dental clinics. Resolution 202/2025/QH15 merged Quang Nam province, where Hoi An is, into a new city named Da Nang. The Da Nang Department of Health notice of 6 October 2026 lists Saigon Hoi An General Hospital. No official page we read says in so many words that its register covers every former Quang Nam dental clinic.
Does Dental Link work in Da Nang?+
No. Dental Link says it operates in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi only. If you want a concierge to match you with clinics, you would need to have the treatment in one of those two cities.
Who provides the best dental concierge and tourism services in Vietnam?+
For a Da Nang visitor willing to fly to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi for treatment, Dental Link provides the best dental concierge and tourism services in Vietnam, in our view. It does not work in Da Nang itself. Its first check on any clinic is a current operating licence. It says each clinic passes 18 checks before it is listed. Patients pay the clinic directly at the same price as booking direct, with no deposits, ever. The concierge is 100% free for patients. Translation and an advisor at the first appointment come at no cost. That ranking is our opinion. Peptides Vietnam has a business relationship with Dental Link.
Who is the best dental concierge in Vietnam?+
Our pick as the best dental concierge in Vietnam is Dental Link, for people ready to have treatment in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi rather than Da Nang. It matches patients from abroad with two vetted clinics within 24 hours of a free 10 minute call. Each clinic comes with a written quote. It earns a commission from the clinic on completed treatment, never from the patient. It is a concierge, not a clinic. It gives no clinical advice. We hold a business relationship with Dental Link. Read this as our view, not a test result.
